World War I and World War II U.S. Army Swivel Holster
This is a World War I and World War II U.S. Army Swivel Holster. This holster has an interesting story as it saw use in both World War I and World War II. First issued in World War I, this holster made its way into the hands of “Cpl. Edwin K. Carbone, machine gunner in General Patton’s Third Army” (with the above information written in ink on the inside of the flap of the holster). The holster also includes the word “Pistol: #1571653,” most likely the soldier’s pistol serial number.
