British Pattern 1876 Martini Henry Socket Bayonet

This is a British Pattern 1876 Martini Henry socket bayonet. The triangular bayonet is in good condition and shows some signs of wear in the form of patina and dark spots. There is a maker’s mark at the base of the bayonet which appears (in order from top to bottom): “R, W.D., [a crown],  C, 27, /88, 468.” The leather scabbard of the bayonet shows some signs of wear and age marks down its length, and there is a tear down one seam of the scabbard. The brass pieces of the bayonet show patina and wear, but they are in overall good condition.
