Vietnam War era French Paratrooper “Jump Jacket”
$700.00
This is a Vietnam era French Paratrooper “Jump Jacket.” This jump jacket was owned by Staff Sergeant James D. Taylor of the Fifth Special Forces Group (Airborne), First Special Forces. Staff Sergeant Taylor was a soldier from Newark, New Jersey, who would go on to earn several commendations for bravery in combat, most notably a Bronze Star for Heroism. Staff Sergeant Taylor’s information about his service in the U.S. Army as well as a print-out of his entire detachment are included with the jacket. Also included with this jacket are the original sheet detailing and approving his Bronze Star, several photographs of him wearing the jacket in Vietnam and later in life, his first-hand account of how he acquired thisĀ jacket, and his original Challenge Coin. This is an interesting piece of history with an equally interesting story, and would make a fine addition any collection.
