World War II German Enlisted Man’s Belt Buckle

This is a World War II German enlisted man’s belt buckle. The belt buckle features the iconic “GOTT MIS UNS” (“God is with us” or “God with us”) saying in clear print on the front. The belt buckle comes with only a portion of the original leather belt. However, the portion that remains provides the maker of the buckle and the year of its production. It reads: “FRANKE & COK G LÜDENSCHEID, 1940.” The belt shows some signs of its original green paint and is covered mostly in a fine dark patina.
