This is a World War I era piece of Trench Art. This Trench Art was made by a member of “Co. B. 104th Engrs.” (Engineers) of the “29th Division.” The top of the shell is also marked “Meuse-Argonne-Alsace-Lorraine” and is stippled heavily around its base and a “blank” ying-yang symbol in the middle. The base of the shell is marked “M101 75 M/MG 1270 88 SCOVILI.”
