This is a World War I era U.S. Cavalry named canteen. This canteen is distinguished by a leather strap for mounted infantry, and the name “GUS” scrawled all across the cover. This canteen includes the original cover, the canteen itself, and the lid with the chain. The chain has broken, but both pieces are still present.
