Pre-World War I Landwehr Officer’s Cap

This is a Pre-World War I Landwehr officer’s visor cap. This visor cap is made of fine black wool and shows very few signs of damage across its surface. The red piping shows no signs of fading or snags, and the red cockade and Hussar’s “Landwehr” insignia feature prominently on the front of the cap. The leather sweatband shows some cracking and age marks here and there, but is in good condition overall. On the yellow liner is the maker’s mark in silver string. It reads, “Heinr Hüther, Saarbücken, Kronprinzenstr. 2.” Overall, this cap is in very good condition and would make a fine addition to any collection.
