German-Made Model 1860 Light Calvary Saber
This is a German-made Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber. This Bleckmann Model 1860 cavalry saber was imported from Solingen, Prussia (Germany) by the Ames Sword Company of Chicopee, Massachusetts. The sword features the maker’s mark in the form of a “B , M” inside of a drawn bow. The scabbard of this saber features a dark patina across its surface and a few small dings here and there from use. The blade of the saber is in beautiful condition and shows almost no signs of wear or use in combat down its length. The black leather grip with the wire wrapping is in very good condition as well, and the guard of the saber shows almost no signs of wear or age. Overall, this is an incredible piece that is somewhat rare, and it would make a fine addition to any collection.
