World War I Mill’s Web Shell Belt for Remington Mk III Flare Pistol


This is a World War I era Mk III Remington Flare Pistol shell belt holder. The belt’s cotton webbing features blackened brass fittings and 32 loops for holding 10 gauge-sized shells. Brass adjuster tabs are stamped with the words “MADE BY/MILLS WOVEN CARTRIDGE BELT CO./WORCESTER, MASS.” on the inner-most side while the other side is marked with the Mill’s bullet logo and the words “MADE UNDER/MILLS PATENT.” There is also the words stamped faintly on the back, “SEPT 1917, MILLS” with the word “MILLS” placed inside a bullet-shaped logo. The belt itself has some staining from age and use.
